WHAT:

The 2009 season is upon us and the new gear is here, come hit Lake Somerville Wake Outlaws style and try out all of it, we are having a demo weekend.

If we have enough interest we might even throw together a Grass Roots event on Saturday so let us know what you want.

At night we will have a projector set up with a 15ft. wide screen with one of the twins supplying the sound, it is outstanding. We will have the Wakesurf Instructional DVD with Drew, Transgression, the Chick Flick and anything else that someone wants to bring.

We are getting the camping spaces based on who is going to camp, so please let us know asap if you are going to need a spot. The six sites we plan to reserve are right on the water, next to the restroom and the boat ramp with plenty of parking. Each campsite has a BBQ pit and picnic table.

Everyone is on their own Friday night, Saturday night Wake Outlaws will supply dinner for everyone that comes, if you want to be part of it reply to the thread Fire-Up the Chuck Wagon and how many in your group.

If you show up and tell the gate you are visiting the group in EDIT: 125-130 you will not be charged the $3 entry fee but, if you are staying over night you will need to let them know, not sure if they charge in that case.

Be sure to post: When you are coming, whether or not to Fire-Up the Chuck Wagon and the T-Shirt size for you and your crew!

Directions to Rocky Creek from the website:

From Houston: Take US 290W to Brenham. Follow Highway 36N approximately 14 miles to FM 1948. Turn left. Follow FM 1948 approximately 5 miles. Turn right into park complex.

From Austin: Take US 290E to Brenham. Follow Highway 36N approximately 11.5 miles to FM 1948. Turn left. Follow FM 1948 approximately 5 miles. Turn right into park complex.

From Bryan/College Station: Take FM 60W to Lyons. Turn left on Highway 36S. Follow 36S approximately 7 miles to FM 1948. Turn right. Follow FM 1948 approximately 5 miles. Turn right into park complex.

From Caldwell: Take Highway 36S. Follow 36S approximately 21.5 miles to FM 1948. Turn right. Follow FM 1948 approximately 5 miles. Turn right into park complex.

EDIT: Once in the park and you have checked in at the guard shack get a map and ask them how to get to sites 125-130 road, see map.



Park gate closes at 10pm you can get out but, you cannot get back in by car. Let us know if this is a problem so we can make arrangements.

Lodging: there are only two places close by.

Closest about 5 miles is Overlook park, small cabins, usually 2 night minimum, contact: (979) 289-2321

2nd closest is about 8 miles away, Super 8 Motel (979) 596-3884

MISC:

Rocky Creek Store is across the street from the entrance of the park, they have most anything you might forget to bring. Inside is Nana's Kitchen, which serves breakfast (sausage biscuits and breakfast burritos and coffee for breakfast from 6am-11am.

we need to put up a movie list, and see what movie people would want to see on the big screen. It is awesome to sit back and watch that thing with the twin putting out the sound like you are at a drive in!!! Looking forward to it!!

I need to clear it with the wife to make sure we dont have anything else going on, but count me in. I may see if Ty wants to come with me again. Last year was fun, I just wish we could have camped with you guys!!

Lisa wont be able to make it, she is going to the Kenny Chesney concert in San Antonio. I'll be camping. I dont have a tent, so I will probably be crashing in the back seat of the crew cab. I take naps in the truck every once in a while and its pretty comfy.
